Yes. Student One has a social calendar with events organised by our activity coordinators, giving residents plenty of opportunities to meet other students.

Yes. Student One has study spaces available for residents, including quiet study rooms and shared areas where students can focus between classes.

No. Student One does not offer on-site car parking. If you need parking, Student One recommends Parkable for short-term or monthly parking nearby.
Yes. Student One residents can access facilities across all three Brisbane locations, giving you more places to study, relax and connect with other residents.

No. Student One does not have a dedicated prayer room, but our team can provide information about nearby places of worship.
Yes. Student One residents can access facilities across all three Brisbane locations. That means you can live at Adelaide Street, Elizabeth Street or Wharf Street and still use shared spaces and facilities at the other Student One residences.
Access may depend on the facility, building requirements or availability, so check with the team if there’s a specific space you want to use.
Student One residents have access to a range of shared facilities designed for studying, socialising and relaxing. Facilities vary by building, but may include study rooms, lounges, gyms, pools, cinemas, games areas, BBQ areas and communal kitchens.
Booking and lease agreements
From time to time we offer our own accommodation scholarship. The details are shared on our website when scholarships are available.
Student One management will review your individual circumstance in order to determine the most appropriate outcome. If you notify us by no later than 14 days before the start of the agreement then all rent paid will be refunded.
Yes, you will be provided with a copy of the Residence Rules as part of your offer. Each Student One resident is required to follow our Residence Rules.
Student One offers flexible lease options, including short stays and longer stays. The maximum lease length is 52 weeks at a time. Before your current agreement ends, you may be offered the opportunity to extend your stay, subject to availability.
Yes. Student One offers flexible living options, with contract lengths available from as little as two weeks. Use the Flexi-Stay function on the booking page to search for dates that suit you.
Our official check-in time is from 2PM.
The check-out time is 10AM.
As we operate 24/7 you might be able to check-in at any time, but please check with your residence as your room might still be occupied until 10AM.
If you cancel no less than 14 days before your booked check-in date, Student One can refund your two-week deposit in full.
You can book your Student One room online. Start by choosing your preferred location, room type and lease length, then enter your details, review your rental agreement and pay a deposit equal to two weeks’ rent to secure your place.

Yes, if there is availability. You and your friends can book rooms in the same five-bedroom apartment. If your group does not fill every room, Student One will find other students to fill the remaining bedrooms.
Yes. You can check in after your agreement start date, but your rent will still begin from the date listed in your tenancy agreement.
Official check-in is from 2.00pm and check-out is by 10.00am.
Student One operates 24/7, so you may be able to check in outside standard hours. Please contact your residence before arrival, as your room may still be occupied until 10.00am on your check-in day.
Yes, however your rent starts from the date of your tenancy agreement, whether or not you have checked in.
Yes, you certainly can. But please note that the maximum length of a lease with Student One is 52 weeks (1 year) at a time. Before your current contract has ended, you will be offered the opportunity to extend your stay.
Yes, you will be required to pay a bond which will be forwarded to the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA). This is used as a security payment in the event of any damage, rental arrears or cleaning to the property is required upon your departure. If the apartment is left in an acceptable condition and your rent is paid up to date, then the bond will be returned in full.
Generally, yes, if you have a friend who also wants to stay at Student One and you would like to live together then you can make a booking into the same twin share or apartment. Find out more about booking with friends here.
If you damage or break any of our property then you will be required to pay for the repair or replacement. You will be given notice of this charge and it will be charged to your account. In the event items are damaged when you move out, the cost of repair/replacement will be deducted from your bond payment. If this amount exceeds the amount taken as bond, you will be required to pay any outstanding fees. If there is damage caused by multiple residents, then the cost to fix the damage will be divided between you and the others involved.
A two-week rent in advance payment can be paid via a MasterCard and Visa to secure your place at a Student One residence. The ongoing rent can is to be paid from a bank account as long as it is from an Australian bank account.
We understand life happens and sometimes you are forced to cancel your booking. If you do so by no less than 14 days prior to your booked check-in date we are happy to refund your 2 weeks’ deposit in full.
Yes, all our employees have Queensland Government Blue Card certification, a background check that allows us to work with people aged under 18 years. Student One is also Brisbane’s only purpose-built student accommodation that has been approved by all major universities and schools to accommodate their under 18 year old students.
Yes, Student One welcomes couples. Please take the time to look at our Rooms page to book an Executive -, King- or Queen Studio, which can be configured to accommodate couples.
We understand that having friends or family visit can be important while you're studying away from home. Overnight visitors are only allowed in studio apartments with a double, queen, or king-size bed. Unfortunately, rooms with a standard king single bed aren’t suitable to share with another person.
If your room type allows for visitors, please remember to let us know in advance. All visitors must sign in at reception when they arrive.
Yes. When booking online, select With Friends as your living preference and enter your friends’ details. Your friends will then receive a link to complete their booking.
Their room will only be held for a limited time, so they should complete their booking as soon as possible. You can find more details about group bookings in our booking accommodation guide.
Rent is paid fortnightly in advance, with the exception of a 4-week contract where full payment is taken prior to your arrival. We will provide you with a rent schedule so you can plan for each of the rent payments.
Yes. You will receive a copy of the Residence Rules as part of your offer. All Student One residents are required to follow these rules during their stay.
We are aware these aren’t pets, but guide-, hearing- or assistance dogs are of course permitted on the premises. For health and safety reasons we do not recommend bringing a pet, but, if you really must bring your pet, please apply for permission by contacting [email protected] .
Yes. Student One welcomes couples in selected studio room types. Executive, King and Queen Studios can be configured to accommodate couples.
Student One offers Brisbane’s most flexible living solutions, so we can tailor your contract length to as little as 2 weeks.
Simply use the "Flexi-Stay" function on our bookings page to search for the dates that suit you best.
Your rental rate is per person, per week for all studios and apartments. We do however offer some ‘couples rooms’ that can cater for two. Our Executive-, King- and Queen Studios can accommodate up to two people.
You are bound by the Residential Tenancies Agreement. Student One will endeavour to work out any issues with you within the guidelines set out by the Agreement.
It is possible that your rate changes during the term of your lease. When you select your room on our website, you will be shown if, and when your rate changes so there are no hidden surprises.
Booking online is easy! Just find a room that suits you and provide your details. You'll be directed through to our online portal to review your rental agreement and pay a deposit equal to 2-weeks of rent. for more information about how to book, click here.

Yes we welcome all students, as long as you can provide a proof of study enrolment.
Under-18 international students and parents
If you cannot start your course in Brisbane because your Australian visa was not approved, provide proof before your lease starts and Student One will refund your full deposit in line with our visa cancellation policy.
Under-18 students have a daily curfew of 10.00pm. After this time, they must stay inside their Student One building.
Yes. Student One can accommodate eligible under-18 students, including
under-18 international students, with specific safety, welfare and support arrangements in place.
Yes. Under-18 students can use Student One facilities. After the 10.00pm curfew, they must remain inside the building.
Parents or guardians and the student’s educational institution need to confirm the required arrangements and sign a guarantee before the student moves in.
Yes. Student One has 24/7 on-site staff available across its Brisbane residences.
Yes. Student One can be an alternative to homestay for eligible under-18
international students who are ready for a more independent student accommodation experience.
Yes. Student One team members are police-checked and hold Queensland Government-issued Blue Cards.

Student One has three residences in Brisbane City: on Adelaide Street, Wharf Street and Elizabeth Street. Each location is close to public transport, food, shopping and city life.

Services and support
Yes. Student One can help arrange an airport pick-up before you arrive. Email your arrival details to [email protected] and our team will let you know the cost at the time of booking.
Overnight visitors are only allowed in studio apartments with a double, queen or king-size bed. Rooms with a standard king single bed are not suitable to share with another person.
If your room type allows overnight visitors, please let Student One know about the visitor in advance. All visitors must sign in at reception when they arrive.
Student One reception is staffed 24/7, so we can accommodate late arrivals. Official check-in is from 2.00pm, but if you expect to arrive outside standard hours, contact your residence before you travel so our team can help you plan your arrival.
We have an extensive social calendar full of events organised by our activity coordinators. Some of our events include city tours, semester balls, theme park visits, cultural tours, sporting events, to name a few. You will have many opportunities to meet other like-minded students from across the globe.
For health and safety reasons, pets are generally not recommended at Student One.
Guide, hearing and assistance dogs are permitted on the premises. If you need to discuss bringing a pet or assistance animal, please contact [email protected] before booking so our team can review your request.
No. Student One does not offer car parking at its residences.
If you need a parking space, Student One recommends using Parkable, a parking-sharing platform for short-term and monthly parking. Bookings, payments and site access are managed through the Parkable app.
Can my family and friends stay for a visit?
Student One is purpose-built for students, so we recommend visiting family and friends stay nearby.
For Adelaide Street and Wharf Street, we recommend Holiday Inn Express, located around 300 metres away. For Elizabeth Street, we recommend ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street, located across the road next to Uptown.
No. Student One is responsible for keeping public and common areas clean, while residents are responsible for keeping their own rooms clean and tidy.
Room cleaning can be arranged at an additional cost, depending on your room size and the time required. Vacuum cleaners are available from reception free of charge, but residents will need to supply their own cleaning products.
Student One’s three Brisbane residences are centrally located, giving students easy access to public transport, including buses, trains and ferries. Student One also offers free shuttle rides to UQ’s St Lucia campus, with daily departures from Adelaide Street and Elizabeth Street at 8.00am, 9.00am and 10.00am.
Queensland public transport fares are currently 50 cents per journey across Translink services, including buses, trains, ferries and trams. Airtrain services are excluded. For the latest fare and route information, check Translink before you travel.
No, we do not offer any car parking at either of our residences. If you need a space for your car we recommend Parkable.

The short answer is no. We are responsible for keeping all public and common areas clean while you are responsible to keeping your own room clean and tidy, just as is is when you arrive. You can arrange to have your room cleaned at a cost (actual cost is depending in size of room and time required). We do provide vacuum cleaners at reception free of charge but all other cleaning materials have to be purchased by yourself.
No. Student One does not offer catered meal options.
Each studio and apartment includes kitchen facilities so residents can cook for themselves and follow their own schedule. Some buildings also have food outlets located at street level, and food nights are often included as part of the resident community program.

You’ll also see our Resident Ambassadors, or RAs, around Student One. They’re friendly faces in the community and often appear on our social media too.
Each studio and apartment is fitted with kitchen facilities to allow you to cook for yourself to your own schedule and culinary needs. There are no catered options available but several food outlets are located within the buildings on street level and we frequently organise food nights as part of our community engagement program.

Absolutely. We can arrange airport pick-ups for you. Just email us your details at [email protected] and we will arrange. We will advise you of the cost of the pick up at the time of the booking.

As Student One is purpose built for students and students only we recommend your visiting family and friends stay at our partner hotel, HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS just 300 metres up the road from Adelaide and Wharf street.
Near Elizabeth Street we recommend Hotel Ibis Styles Brisbane, located just across the road, next to Uptown (formerly the Myer Centre). To book simply click here, select destination “ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street” and follow the prompts. Done.
Payments, rent and bond
If you damage or break Student One property, you’ll be required to pay for the repair or replacement.
You’ll be notified of the charge and it will be added to your account. If damage is found after you move out, the cost may be deducted from your bond. If the repair or replacement cost is more than the bond amount, you’ll need to pay the remaining balance.
If damage is caused by multiple residents, the cost may be divided between those involved.

The bond acts as a security payment and may be used if there is damage, unpaid rent or cleaning required after you move out. If your room or apartment is left in an acceptable condition and your rent is paid up to date, your bond can be returned in full.

Student One will provide a rent schedule so you can plan for each payment.
Your stay is covered by your Residential Tenancies Agreement, which is the formal rental agreement that sets out the terms of your stay.
If there is an issue, Student One will work with you within the terms of the agreement to help resolve it. We recommend contacting the team as soon as possible so they can understand what has happened and explain the next steps.

This includes domestic, interstate and international students studying in Brisbane.
Yes. Student One can accommodate eligible under 18 students. Our team members have Queensland Government Blue Card certification, which allows them to work with people aged under 18.
