All of Student One’s residences are located within a short walk of Brisbane’s CityCat and Ferry Service. This is wonderful way to travel as you zigzag up and down the iconic Brisbane River. The CityCat and Ferry service allows easy access to QUT, UQ and educational institutions around South Bank Cultural Precinct.

Both terminals have a large schedule of flights connecting with destinations across Australia and the globe. Located within our Adelaide Street residence is an IGA supermarket, which is open from 7am to 10pm, seven days a week.

This convenience store is open 24/7 and just around the corner from Student One Adelaide Street. This is a great option for those late-night studying snacks.

Students needing to do a bigger grocery shop can visit Woolworths which is a supermarket located three blocks away from Student One Adelaide Street. It is conveniently located within the MacArthur Central Shopping Centre, also home to Big W, JB Hi-Fi and an Apple store as well as various food outlets.

Residents of Student One are spoilt for choice when it comes to nearby restaurants and food outlets. All cuisines and budgets are catered for. See our friendly reception staff for some suggestions. They all like their food!

Brisbane City Doctors is a 10-minute walk from Student One and has a group of specialist general practitioners who can assist with all medical matters. They provide bulk billing options for patients who meet their criteria. Alternatively, they charge by 10-minute bookings. They are open Monday to Friday 7.30am- 7pm and 9am- 5pm on Saturday. We recommend you book an appointment by phone or through their easy-to-use online system.

Dental Space is only a five-minute walk from Student One Adelaide Street. They can look after all of your dental needs.

All of Australia’s major banking institutions are located within a short walk of Student One Adelaide Street. They can all assist with currency exchanges. There are also many automatic teller machines located throughout the city.

For international students requiring assistance with their student visas or post study work rights, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship may be able to assist. They can also provide useful information for Australian students travelling overseas for holidays or on a student exchange. They are located on Adelaide Street and are open 9am- 4pm Monday to Friday.

Brisbane has one of Queensland’s most informative tourist centres located only a short walk from Student One Adelaide Street. Found in the city’s historic Regent Theatre, the centre has some really helpful staff who can suggest great places to visit while in Queensland. They can also book a range of activities, such as surf trips or farm stays, for you. The centre is open six days a week from 9am, and from 10am on Sunday. It’s worth a visit, because what they don’t know isn’t worth knowing.

Australia Post is the place to visit when wanting to send mail and packages. The closest Australia Post is on Queen Street and a very short walk from Student One on Adelaide Street. This office is open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. Together, we can arrange for mail and packages to be securely sent to you via our reception staff.

Student One Adelaide Street is only a short walk from Brisbane’s leading shopping and food district, Queen Street Mall. One of Australia’s largest pedestrian malls, this centre has many leading retail brands and local souvenir shops. Dotted around the shops is a large range of food options, from fast food to fine dining. To visit the mall head down Edward Street, it’s near the Apple Store. You can’t miss it.
