The best pizza in and around Brisbane City

Pizza in boxes
In honour of National Pizza Day we took it upon ourselves and our taste buds to rate all of your Brisbane pizza options. From cheap and cheerful to something a little more fancy, here are our findings.

Dominos – Queen Street, Brisbane CBD

Dominos Pizza
For a quick and cheap feed on the run, you’ll want Dominos. Located less than 100m away from both the Student One Adelaide and Wharf Street residences it will become your local pizza spot. This longtime pizza joint always has specials running so make sure you check out its website before making any commitments. Really on a budget? Check out the value range, but you’ll find its traditional pizzas are always a winner and gentle on your wallet. It also has vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

Corbett & Claude – Elizabeth Street, Brisbane City

This cozy and rustic pizzeria is the original Brisbane Corbett & Claude and is situated in the Chambers Building on Elizabeth Street. Even better, it is a five minute walk from all three Student One residences. This pizza cross laneway bar cross coffee house brings all of the vibes all day every day. It has a classic range with all of your favourites and a C&C Special range if you’re after something a little more. Plus it caters for gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan.

Coppa Spuntino – Creek Street, Brisbane City

Head to Coppa on a Monday after 4.30pm and choose any pizza and beer for $20 – #winning. You’ll find rustic wood-fired pizzas and while the menu is small the flavours well and truly make up for it. In easy walking distance of all the Student One Residences dine in or grab takeaway.

Vapiano – Albert Lane, Brisbane City

Vapiano is great if you’re chasing dine-in pizza at a good price. Unlike a traditional restaurant, you order at the counter and get a buzzer, so you wait for your dish to be cooked right before your eyes. Guaranteeing that it is as fresh as it gets. It offers vego, vegan and gluten-free options too.

Felons Brewing Co – Boundary Street, Brisbane City

The perfect place for an afternoon session featuring drinks and pizza as the sun goes down. This happening spot can get busy with the after work crowd so head in early and stay late. The pizzas are epic and are washed down perfectly with one of its craft beers. Start with a Margherita and finish off with a Nutella pizza.

New York Slice – Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley

Slice of pizza

The perfect on-the-go spot, New York Slice serves up authentic, you guessed it, New York pizzas. Buy by the slice just like they do in America and savour every mouthful. It is slightly pricey when you consider that you’re only getting one piece, but the servings are large and the flavours even larger. This one is popular with the late night crowd.

The Fox Hotel – Melbourne Street, South Brisbane

The Fox Hotel is the perfect spot if you’re looking to wind down with a pizza and a drink. Stay downstairs for a pub-style feel or head in on a Sunday and go up to the rooftop for chill vibes, good music and epic views.

Julius Pizzeria – Grey Street, South Brisbane

The holy grail of Brisbane Italian food, not just good for pizza but its pastas are also drool worthy. While slightly more expensive this is a feed you have to try at least once. Lines can be long so get in early.

Pizza Capers – Leichhardt Street, Spring Hill

Feeling adventurous? Try Pizza Capers with its range of unique flavour combinations. The menu features a huge range of pizzas including The Wafflicken – crispy fried chicken and waffle bites with maple butter – Karaage Chicken and Vegan Satay Tofu. You’ll also find traditional flavours with twists.

Italian Street Kitchen – Skyring Terrace, Newstead

You’ll have to be rolled home after you feast at the Italian Street Kitchen. We recommend grabbing a group, selecting a range of pizzas and sharing so you can have a taste of as many pizzas as possible. These pizza’s don’t come precut so instead you’ll have to use scissors to cut off as much as you dare.

Salt Meats Cheese – Skyring Terrace, Newstead

Salt Meats Cheese is known for its traditional Italian feeds with a twist. One look at its menu will have your mouth watering. It also has weekly deals that will save you some dough.

Crust – Brunswick Street, New Farm

Margarita pizza

Crust pizza is a takeaway pizza shop that has reasonable prices considering how gourmet its menu range is. While it does stock traditional flavours like Margarita and Hawaiian, things get a little more fancy with its Moroccan Lamb, Vietnamese Chilli Chicken and Tandoori pizzas.

DIY Pizza – Student One

Want to stay closer to home? Sticking to a budget? Grab some groceries and have a DIY pizza night. Completely customisable you can create your ultimate pizza featuring all of your favourite toppings without leaving the comfort of your Student One room.
