For all your matcha dreams to come true, head down to Matcha Honpo. It’s nestled inside of the lobby of Student One Wharf Street so you don’t have to go far. Enjoy its matcha frappes, matcha lattes and matcha sundaes.

Poke bowls galore

Poke bowls are one of the latest #foodtrends to hit Brisbane, and now you can enjoy it every day at My Poke. Don’t know what poke is? It’s kind of like a deconstructed bowl of sushi, where you get to pick all the ingredients. Choose between a poke or curry bowl and customise your base, protein, salad and sauce. It’s tasty, fresh and healthy, and My Poke has seats both inside and out to enjoy it.

Healthy choices on-the-go

When you’re rushing out the door and need something that’s quick, but still healthy, drop by cute little Pocket Micro Cafe. Serving coffee and juice, takeaway toasties and delicious salad jars, this is the perfect stop on your way to class. Our favourite? The ‘classic’ toastie with smoked ham and gooey cheese. We are drolling already.

Your hip local bar (and restaurant)

Every student needs student-friendly drinks and affordable eats nearby, day and night. Say hello to Hellcat Maggie. This atmospheric restaurant and bar dishes up breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus coffee and alcoholic beverages. Tuck in to burgers, salads, wings and loaded fries, or home-style favourites like lasagne and meatballs. The best part? Most eats are under $15. It also has its own beer on tap designed just for students (ie. it’s cheap). This is the perfect spot to hang out with friends, in style.

A quick coffee and snack fix

Think: bacon and egg rolls, sausage rolls and more, plus plenty of baked goodies on the counter like gluten free bars, florentines and cookies. There’s plenty of outdoor seating for those who want to linger and its tips jar is always full of all kinds of international currencies.

Sushi with a side of fried chicken

Sushi in glass cabinet
Every student needs a good sushi spot, and Karaage delivers. It has a huge range of freshly made sushi every day, from seaweed-wrapped rolls to Nigiri and Edamame, and plenty of Japanese-style curry and noodle bowls that will be friendly on your wallet.

Grass fed beef burger joint

Yes, please. Jee’s Burgers & Chicken is all about high-quality grass-fed beef patties that get made from scratch every day in store. That’s the key to its delicious line-up of mouthwatering beef burgers. Its chicken burger is also a hit (and it’s huge) and the chilli cheese chips are to die for. The only thing left to do? Top it off with one of its signature shakes.

Halal or vego? Kebabs of all kinds

The name says it all. At Kebapp, you’ll find all the kebabs you can possibly dream of and lots of burgers too. It caters to every style of diner too, with vegetarian options and halal meat. This one is a good quick stop for if you’re on the run.

A taste of vietnam

Stacks of fresh and tasty Vietnamese flavours are waiting for you at Saigon Salad Roll. The cabinets are loaded with rice paper rolls and freshly made banh mi, while the board is full of made to order options, from pho to rice vermicelli salad, spring rolls, curries and aromatic stir-fry. Thirsty for bubble tea? It has that too. For a bargain, don’t miss its lunchtime specials.
