Streets Beach is Australia’s only inner city, man-made beach, located adjacent to the banks of the Brisbane River and part of the Southbank Parklands. Surrounded by tropical vegetation and white sundrenched beaches, it is the perfect place to beat the heat, have a splash and catch up with some friends.
It is free to use and is patrolled by qualified life guards (hours of coverage may vary) making it a safe and cheap way to get out and enjoy yourself while living in the city centre. To get to the Streets Beach and Southbank Parklands, requires crossing the river at the Goodwill Bridge and then meandering along the Clem Jones Promenade. Alternatively jump on the Rivercat at the Riverside ferry terminal down from the Student One residences and jump off 3 stops later.
